Sovulla Oy founder and owner, Ulla Sara-aho, is a work coach and workplace mediator who helps leaders, supervisors, work communities, and teams to collaborate more constructively and resolve workplace conflicts. Her philosophy is encapsulated in the thought: “Connect before content – connection before content.” This wisdom guides her work and approach – building safe connections between people is the foundation of everything. Ulla’s work reflects a deep understanding that learning and growth occur in relationships, and when a connection is established, everyone can be genuinely present, creative, and enthusiastic.
Sovulla offers services in work coaching, facilitation, workplace mediation, and community coaching, with a particular emphasis on training related to constructive interaction and conflict management. Ulla has nearly twenty years of experience in conflict management, and her professional journey has led her to work in areas such as criminal and civil mediation, training mediators, and leading cultural change initiatives.
The Importance of Crazy Town Membership
The Crazy Town community has supported Sovulla Oy since 2020. Ulla uses the spaces for client meetings, and due to her mobile work, she utilizes various Crazy Town locations in addition to Hämeenlinna, for example, in Tampere and Lahti. She describes Crazy Town as her work community, where support and collaboration are at the center. “Often, we bounce ideas around together with other Crazy Town members, and you can always ask for help – both ways.” The diverse community of Crazy Town has brought important contacts and friendships that enrich daily work and provide new perspectives.
Current Projects and Goals
Currently, Ulla is particularly excited about two retreats taking place in Alicante, Spain, scheduled for early spring. The second retreat, Days of Presence and Trust, focuses on developing communication skills, while the other, Power and Light, gives participants the opportunity to delve into their own needs and self-exploration through writing and other exercises. Both retreats are open to anyone interested and provide a chance to pause and focus on personal growth amidst the busy everyday life.
The company’s future goals continue to focus on supporting work communities through constructive encounters. Ulla’s passion is to be involved in creating sustainable solutions that enhance the well-being and productivity of work communities.
Best moments in Crazy Town
Particularly memorable are the conversations and encounters spent in Crazy Town with other members. Ulla fondly recalls a few years ago during the “frustration circle,” where community members could share their everyday challenges and be heard in a safe environment. These small moments are meaningful and create a sense of belonging that supports the daily lives of all Crazy Town residents.
