When I met Aki Keskitalo for an interview at Crazy Town Lahti, I wanted to keep the atmosphere relaxed – more of a conversation than an official interview. And that’s exactly what our chat turned out to be: a cheerful and interesting insight into his background, projects, and experiences within the Crazy Town community.
Aki has been a member of Crazy Town Lahti from the very beginning, so for almost two years now. He works as an entrepreneur in many roles, but right now his main focus is on the Superterassi project in Helsinki – an experiential event terrace that will open at Kasarmitori and will be open all summer long without an entrance fee.
Superterassi – the Urban Oasis of Summer
Aki works closely with media personality Jaajo Linnonmaa, and their shared mission is to create a place that offers programs and experiences for all ages – and even without an entrance fee. The area will feature 15 restaurants, a café, and an ice cream kiosk. The goal is to attract around 300,000 visitors over the summer. “We just had an important meeting with the local residents and stakeholders. When they gave the green light and saw the project positively, it felt like this thing is going to work,” Aki says with a smile.
During our conversation, Aki also shares how the collaboration with Jaajo Linnonmaa began. “I participated in the Diili program and won that season. After that, Jaajo suggested that if I want every workday to feel like a new Diili task, let’s jump in and work together.” Aki jumped in – and apparently, there have been no dull days.
Crazy Town – More Than an Office
Aki mentions that he found a space at Crazy Town Lahti that concretely supports his entrepreneurship. “Here, there’s a good rhythm for working. There are spaces where you can calm down at the computer, but also meeting rooms for joint meetings. It feels like this space enables efficiency but doesn’t bind you to the old-fashioned nine-to-five thinking.”

One of the most important things for Aki has been the community: “Even though I haven’t directly done business here with others yet, it’s good to know who is around – the network keeps growing all the time.”
Aki recommends Crazy Town to anyone who is ready to think about office space in a new way. “If you don’t need your own space 24/7, but appreciate the flexibility of shared spaces and networking opportunities, this place works. It’s especially suitable for professionals and creative workers.”
Coffee, rhythm, and responsibility
Aki mentions that what’s best about Crazy Town is not only the community and the spaces but also the practical things – like the coffee machine. “I drink a lot of coffee,” he laughs. The workday consists of tasks done on the machine, meetings, music in headphones, and breaks that bring rhythm. “Crazy Town has concretely supported my work. Here, you can focus and also get support – even if you’re not working on the same project as others, the environment itself helps you move forward.”
