The opening of Crazy Town Pendoliino in Tampere was celebrated on Friday, November 14th, in an exceptionally energetic manner – practically all day long. A large group of both new and long-time members, partners, and guests from other Crazy Town cities were present. The day demonstrated in many ways what Crazy Town is all about: expertise, community, coming together, and how important it is to build networks that will last well into the future.
Inspiration Afternoon Kicked Off the Celebration
The day started with an Inspiration Afternoon, where discussions and workshops led to insights, new acquaintances, and several “aha” moments. Jose Siqueira de Cerquiera and Chalisa Veesommai Sillberg from the GTP-Lab of the University of Tampere opened the event with a concrete and inspiring workshop on prompting, while Jani Karhunen from RISE Technologies delved into the real challenges and solutions of financial management for expert companies.
The content of the afternoon impressively demonstrated the high caliber of experts found within the Crazy Town community – expertise and perspectives that inspire and challenge growth. At the same time, it reinforced the feeling that the true strength of the community comes from its members themselves.
The official part was opened by Crazy Town entrepreneur Mikko Markkanen, who raised a toast to the new spaces, community, and partners. In his speech, he reminded that while the wonderful spaces provide a great stage, the real magic comes from the people: their collaboration, encounters, and desire to build something greater together.
In the afternoon, we also heard thoughts from Jones Häkkinen and Markkanen on the importance of social capital, as well as an inspiring panel where CT’s Toni Pienonen, Tommi Uitti, Ville Kairamo from Demola, and Harri Kulmala from Dimec opened up views on the impact of ecosystems on business growth.
Crazy Evening Party – Networks, Music, and Magic
As the evening darkened, the Crazy Evening Party kicked off, and the atmosphere quickly rose to new heights. Guests eagerly took advantage of the opening offer, and as the day progressed, the community grew with several new members – many clearly wanted to jump in right from the first day.
The charming duo Sini and Simi, who provided the evening’s music, created a warm and relaxed atmosphere that encouraged people to dance and chat with new acquaintances. Mentalist Miika Korkatti, on the other hand, wandered among the tables astonishing the crowd with his incredible close-up magic. There were sparkling drinks, cocktail bites, and just the right competitive spirit in the form of Crazy Visa.
As the party progressed, rumors began to spread throughout the city that Crazy Town was hosting the best party of the weekend. Throughout the evening, new partygoers joined in, who had previously spent their evening elsewhere – and wanted to be part of this unique energy.
Karaoke as the crown of the evening
Later in the evening, we moved to the 5th floor Learning Corner and Crazy Karaoke, which turned out to be a real crowd-pleaser. At its peak, there were over 50 people singing, cheering, and celebrating together. The stage saw bold performances, strong emotions, and even presentations in Japanese – the atmosphere was so intense that few would have wanted to leave.
