Last week, the entire Crazy Town team traveled to Aulanko to celebrate the annual team days. This event, which has become the highlight of the year for our remote team, was once again filled with laughter, the joy of reunion, exciting new planning, constructive discussions, and most importantly – being together.
People arrived from all over Finland, from Oulu to Espoo. We spent two whole days together during which we combined work and fun in the best way we know how.
The Future, Workshops, and New Openings
During the days, we dove into the company’s future and reviewed the situations of different units in various cities. The spotlight was particularly on the new units opening up – Pendoliino and Erica – whose preparations are progressing rapidly. The new Crazy Town Pendoliino will open in Tampere on September 1, 2025. The opening of Espoo’s EriCa will follow closely, so the upcoming autumn will be full of hustle and bustle. The whole crew supports local teams in the openings of new units.
Together, we discussed ongoing projects, areas for development, and shared wishes that will lead us towards an even stronger community.
The insightful marketing workshop on the crew’s expertise and how to showcase it brought together ideas and perspectives that provide new energy for individuals’ actions as well as upcoming campaigns, events, and projects. In the workshop, everyone had the opportunity to explore and articulate their own strengths – both professional and skills gained through life experiences. At the same time, we paused to reflect on what we want to learn and develop in the future. How can, for example, Crazy Town’s communities, events, or activities highlight these?
Additionally, the marketing team held a lively discussion about utilizing AI tools in a workshop that sparked interest. We pondered together how artificial intelligence can support daily activities, streamline processes, and open up new creative opportunities. Many participants came up with entirely new ideas that they can start testing right away in their daily lives.
The Magic of Sibelius Forest
In the stunning landscapes of Aulanko, in the tranquility of Sibelius Forest, we teamed up through collaboration and outdoor activities. The new community leader for team leaders, Eveliina Sorri, guided a warm-hearted team exercise where we highlighted positive attributes about each other – and realized how much appreciation and inspiration can be found within our team. It’s always a good time to tell someone what you like about them, what strengths each person has, and how we value each other’s expertise and skills. In the hustle and bustle of everyday life, the most important things often go unsaid.
Even the beautiful lake scenery that once inspired Sibelius encouraged our most enthusiastic team members to sing – what else but the Finlandia hymn (check out the video of the moment on Instagram and follow the account). At the same time, we captured new team photos in the majestic landscapes – the photos and the moment will bring smiles for a long time to come.
The inspiring day was crowned with a dinner prepared together, enjoyed around a communal table with games, laughter, and a great atmosphere. Later, the evening continued with sauna, hot tub, and swimming.
Community Professionals Need Their Own Community
The work of the Crazy Town team is based on a strong culture of collaboration. Community professionals – those who daily support, inspire, and coach member companies, members, and project participants – also need a strong support system themselves. Team days provide just that: time to share their own expertise, learn from each other, and strengthen mutual trust. When the team is doing well and feels a sense of belonging, the best conditions arise to convey the same support and inspiration to the entire Crazy Town community.
Team days in Aulanko reinforced what makes Crazy Town unique. Community, openness, and a desire to grow together. Professionally and as individuals. Whether each person took the train, drove, or walked home, they left with renewed enthusiasm and a strengthened sense of belonging.
