The CoWorking People series showcases the member companies of Crazy Town.
Original Sokos Hotel Vaakuna Hämeenlinna has been in the midst of a major transformation in recent months – and soon the wait will be rewarded. The extensive renovation of the hotel is nearing completion, and the doors will reopen to the public on August 1, 2025. Hotel Manager Tiina Helenius and Sales Consultant Heidi Saarinen share what the renovation entails – and how the Crazy Town community has been helpful during the project.
A Temporary Home at Crazy Town
“We have been in temporary facilities at Crazy Town Hämeenlinna for about six months because our own unit has been under renovation.” We have our own office here for the hotel’s sales team and management, which has been a really effective solution, Helenius explains. “A big advantage of being here has been the opportunity to use meeting rooms and open workspaces. Additionally, the sense of community and networking with people from other companies has added a lot of value to our daily lives.” “Here, we don’t just talk about community – you can feel and see it every day,” Saarinen notes.

The Renovated Vaakuna Attracts Already
By the end of July, the new Vaakuna will be ready to welcome both locals and travelers. “Our goal is to provide modern and attractive settings for accommodation and meetings. The marketing of the renovation has generated a lot of interest – especially for the fall, the meeting and accommodation business has been going well,” Saarinen shares.
The Vaakuna will offer eight differently sized meeting rooms, 123 hotel rooms, and a 134-seat restaurant Le Blason, which can accommodate both casual and more formal events.

Open Doors to Autumn
For the Crazy Town community, Helenius and Saarinen want to remind that Vaakuna remains an open and approachable partner. “If you need space for an event, a meeting, or accommodation, we have the facilities. Feel free to reach out: sales.hameenmaa@sok.fi / 020 1234 654.”
Memories and Wishes from the Community
The most memorable experience for the duo from Crazy Town has been the community breakfasts – events where people meet, chat, and share everyday news. “Hopefully, we will see as many of you as possible at Vaakuna this autumn, perhaps over breakfast,” Helenius concludes with a smile.
