DIMECC is one of over 400 member companies of Crazy Town.
DIMECC is a Finnish service company focused on the renewal of industry. We have been leading collaboration between industry and research since 2008. Our operations cover some of Finland’s largest business ecosystems, ranging from manufacturing to artificial intelligence, additive manufacturing, the metaverse, and smart mobility.
Nearly 30 experts work at DIMECC across Finland. Our headquarters is located in Crazy Town Tampere, and we also have an office in Helsinki. Our clients and partners operate nationally and internationally, so a central location and good transport connections are important to us. Therefore, Crazy Town Tampere serves as a natural home base for our activities.
Looking to the Future
At the core of DIMECC is the idea of co-development, or co-creation: Future solutions are created together. Currently, we are particularly focused on issues related to the performance and productivity of the manufacturing industry, the utilization of artificial intelligence and data, XR and metaverse solutions, additive manufacturing, and smart and sustainable mobility. The common denominator for all our activities is a forward-looking perspective – where the industry is heading next.
We form and lead programs for business and technology development, where companies and research organizations develop solutions to real industrial challenges.
Our operations are extensive, and we are not limited to one form. Part of DIMECC’s activities is also the foundation-funded PoDoCo – Post Docs in Companies program, which connects doctors and companies to renew their operations based on research. If a company needs new ways of thinking, deep expertise, or long-term development work, we help find the right doctor and build a functional collaboration model between research and practice.
We also organize numerous events, such as the international Manufacturing Performance Days (MPD) event aimed at decision-makers in the manufacturing industry, which brings together leaders from industry, research, and technology. The next MPD will be held in Tampere on June 9–10, 2027.
As we move towards 2026, the outlook for the manufacturing industry is cautiously positive. Artificial intelligence continues to accelerate digitalization and is rapidly changing industrial operating models – not just as isolated experiments, but as part of a broader transformation. DIMECC wants to be involved in ensuring that this change occurs in a controlled, collaborative, and sustainable manner.
