Together with our international partners – leading universities and business communities across Europe – Crazy Town applied for and got funding for four European Union projects for years 2020-2023. Total budget of projects runs in millions of euros. Below you can find a summary of the four different projects, what they have to offer and why are we involved in them.

Katerina Salmi from our Crazy Town team is responsible for coordination of international activities, so if you are interested, drop her a note!

blankSPANNING BOUNDARIES

Spanning Boundaries is a FREE 4-month online training programme – the first of its kind in Europe – for individuals that work to break down the barriers between academia and industry. Programme is organized in two cohorts in 2021-2022. Our first cohort launches in March 2021 and we are now looking for first participants!

Apply and join if you are
business that recognises the importance of building links with universities, to increase your innovation capability and access talent and latest knowledge
intermediary, e.g. knowledge/technology transfer professional, whose job is to promote and facilitate university-business cooperation
– or academic, who wants to engage with society and businesses for increased impact.

Countries: Finland, Netherlands, Germany, Spain, France, Ireland and Turkey

Why is Crazy Town involved? Finnish SMEs lack the tools to make use of the resources that universities have to offer. At the same time, academics don’t know how to interact with SMEs. Let’s change that together!

With UNITE4H, we help SMEs and universities to design, apply and get joint projects funded. UNITE4H focuses especially on project ideas that could utilize funding from Horizon Europe, EU’s multibillion flagship research programme, but tips and tricks can be used for any funding instrument, such as Business Finland.

UNITE4H training workshops launch in full early 2022, but during 2021 we will investigate into engagement needs and challenges experienced by the stakeholders.

REVALORISE logo

REVALORISE+

RE_Valorise helps researchers and academics with background in social sciences and humanities to create immediate social value and impact through entrepreneurship. With our help, they are better equipped to establish spinouts, spinoffs or utilize their skills as (part-time) entrepreneurs.

Countries: Finland, Netherlands, France, Denmark, Austria, Spain and Ireland

Why is Crazy Town involved? We believe in the power of entrepreneurship as a platform for anyone, also academics, to create real-life impact based on their skills. We also know that many of our community members could benefit from having entrepreneurial academics in their team.
